The Millie’s Mark Trust was set up by the parents of Millie Thompson who died after choking on food at a nursery in 2012 when she was just nine months old. The awarding of Millie’s Mark to nurseries, kindergartens, playgroups and anyone professionally involved in childcare seeks to indicate strong delivery of paediatric first aid training and paediatric first aid understanding by those running the service and instil greater confidence among parents placing their child’s care to carers in these environments.
